The Office S08E01 - The List

To be fair the show had to do some serious good work in order to stay on my radar so it can't really be a surprise that it failed to do so. 
For a lot of years Michael Scott was the reason I didn't tune in. Now that he's gone you'd think I'd be having a field day but I'm not. It's not that I miss his annoying humor or hatable actions but The Office feels terribly empty without him. As if all the characters are missing a piece of themselves. The season premiere didn't do much to forget all about that and ended up being quite forgettable.

NBC renews Community, 30 Rock and The Office

Even though ratings haven't exactly matched comedy nights of ABC or CBS, NBC still has faith in it's Thursday night comedy line-up. Renewing the critically acclaimed Community, 30 Rock and The Office, plus the early renewal of Parks & Recreation leads to another year of awkward laughter on Thursday nights.

Despite Community's last outing, which was over the top, but apparentely very loved by everyone else, I for one am very happy the show got a second chance. The ensemble comedy is worth sitting through bad weeks and offered enough laughs to come back next year. It also shows NBC learned a thing or three from the Leno-debacle and tries to hold on to viewers by investing in shows that are already on the air, instead of creating new ones. Something The CW could learn from.

When it comes to 30 Rock and The Office renewals were pretty obvious. Running in it's fourth season, the former has Tina Fey, the latter six seasons of Jim and Pam (who's baby arrival boosted the ratings quit a bit). Aside from that, NBC outed confidence in both shows several times.

But for fans of the comedies, it can't be anything else but great news. I am happy to hear that I can continue my laughter on Thursdays, are you?

Review: The Office S06E16: The Delivery

You've waited, you've hoped, you've wanted, and now it's finally time. The Office baby is a fact! Jim and Pam were happy to welcome their first child this week in 'The Delivery' which was a lot of obstacles, an unhealthy long time before going to the hospital, the possibility of another baby and the birth of a matchmaker. It was the show at it's best.
