Review: Gossip Girl S03E14 - The Lady Vanished

Forget what I said about not having pace. This episode of Gossip Girl went way ahead of any progress we thought we made. Parent trouble reached it's tipping point, a relationship gets serious, another gets complicated, someone is leaving and while everybody is giving all their secrets away, all we can do is enjoy.

The upper-east side is back in business. Forget slow motion, no developments and lack of originality, our ticket to the life of the class-lacking colleges, cabs that stop in front of you and really bad parents is one we don't want to return just yet.
Gossip Girl did good by finishing the mother of all secrets this way. Through out the episode, you're constantly thrown off by how the relationship is going to end, and in any case you're understanding and satisfied. But nothing stays the same for longer than two scenes and so by the end of it you're all ready to let go, just around the time the show seems to feel the exact same way.
Talking about feeling the same, Vanessa and Dan keep twirling around each other thinking a hook-up is out of the question. Sure, because the TV-14 rating is just for the drugs.
Right, the drugs. Kevin Zegers gets some (unneeded) background while Jenny is being her retarded self and Lily and Rufus continue thinking they are well enough parents to keep track of little J and still pay attention to their own trouble. Thank God Vanya is there to break the ice.
Talking about ice, Serena and Nate give a whole new look to a refrigerator (you gotta make those connections about something), while trying to figure out exactly what they are going to be next. Serena mean while deals with issues of her own, while budding in with Chuck's so Blair won't have to (look how far we've come).

I personally love it when Serena does something for Chuck, it's the kind of friendship that doesn't work on GG with anybody else. These two looking out for each other is golden. It also allows Blair to prove she really has changed for Chuck. Who knew? The episode was great in moving further, getting things out of the way that we saw coming since the show left us for three months. Plus ending with a song that should be on the top of everybody's playlist, 'Secrets' by OneRepublic (yes, I too only discovered it by the Lost commercial) Now most of the stories are(almost) done, can we move on to Dorota?
