Finally: 'Til Death, Scrubs & Izzie are over, Schavage is on

Some things are unavoidable. Sometimes it's a cancellation of a critically acclaimed show, sometimes the departure of cast members due to budget cuts. And sometimes it's just something that has been concluded months ago, but wasn't finalized until recently. The cancellation of 'Til Death, Scrubs, the production company of the folks about brilliant teen dramas and the departure of the number five best paid female movie star in the world, all belong to that last category.

'Til Death was canceled by FOX. And yes, that show was still on the air somewhere. The show which never pulled great ratings, saw many game changers and cast members and producers abandon ship, is finally going away to make way for shows people actually watch. Seriously, even the producers encouraged the cancellation. Also, this is all thanks to the article by Variety, because this television fanatic, has never, ever seen this show. Moving on.

Scrubs (talking about shows I don't watch), is likely to end too. Though ABC hasn't officially pulled the plug, the show, which sees it's finale tonight, had Zach Braff on Facebook stating that the 2.0 version of the show, did not work even though it was worth the try. "You know what we're thankful for? The best fans a show could ask for," Braff updated later. Seems like this is really the end for the show that switched networks to make a new version work. [insert forced sad face here]

In much happier news, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, you know the geniuses who created The O.C. and who made television for me, are setting up a production company. Named 'Fake Empire' (after the song by The National, which was featured on the Southland finale in which Benjamin McKenzie plays a role, who also played the lead on The O.C., talking about destiny), the production company focuses on TV, but will also pursue the worlds of films, online content, music and publishing. It doesn't really matter what these two do, because whatever it is, it's brilliant. EDIT: News just broke Warner Bros exec. Leonard Goldstein is joining the perfect two-some!

And finally, Michael Aussiello broke the news that Katherine Heigl is officially done with Grey's Anatomy confirming that the January 21st episode was the last time we ever saw of Izzie. "I know I'm disappointing the fans. I just had to make a choice, I hope I made the right one," Heigl says in an exclusive interview in Entertainment Weekly. All I can say is; you didn't, Kath, you really didn't.
