Glee: not coming to a stage near you

Apparently, that's the latest on Glee's musical adaption, you know, the only news AngrodTV shared in the past few days? The idea of a musical version of McKinley High was a hot topic over the past few days, but now it seems that it's absolutely NOT happening...

Turns out, the news that Music Theater Intl. was in talks with FOX and the producers of the show to adapt Glee for a very own musical versions are incorrect. 20th Century FOX TV spokesman Chris Alexander told Variety: "We are very careful and deliberate when contemplating brand extensions of our franchises and are mystified why Music Theater Intl would claim there have been any such discussions about a live theatrical version of Glee".

Sorry gleeksters, I guess seeing the show packed up in a two hour musical isn't going to happen any time soon. But to get your gleek on, here's some (verified) news:

Artie is getting a friend! After attracting a lot of critism for the fact that Kevin McHale (Artie) isn't disabled in real life, the show adds Zach Weinstein to it's cast. Weinstein will play "a character who had suffered a spinal cord injury", much like the actor himself who suffered a spinal cord injury after a boating accident in summer camp. In response to the criticism, Weinstein added "I know for a fact that the producers did audition actors who use wheelchairs [for the role of Artie]. If Kevin McHale was best for the part, then it shouldn't matter whether or not he's able to walk in real life."

On to the music of the show. Glee just put it's third album for pre-ordering on Amazon. Also giving a tracklist of the album.
  1. Express Yourself
  2. Borderline/Open Your Heart
  3. Vogue
  4. Like A Virgin
  5. 4 Minutes
  6. What It Feels For A Girl
  7. Like A Prayer
The album will be available on April 20th, the same day the Madonna episode of Glee air on FOX.
