More Gossip Girl insight: emotional story coming up for Chuck and Blair

Yesterday Michael Aussiello talked to Gossip Girl producer Stephanie Savage and got some scoop on the show's season finale. Today, Kristin Dos Santos caught up with the exec to ask what the next ten episodes will entail. Here's what fans can expect when everybody's favorite blogger returns to reveal all the dirty, little secrets of the Upper East Siders...

- The woman at Bart's grave will have a major influence on Chuck and Blair, as the two team up to find out if this woman (played by Laura Harring) is really Chuck's mother, who supposed to be dead. "I think it's a really great Chuck and Blair story that's very emotional. You see them working together and supporting each other in a way that I think fans will really enjoy," Savage spills.

- No couple is forever... "That's what is so interesting from our perspective because I've never been on a show where you feel there are really other genuine options. Like, maybe Serena goes with Nate, but maybe she goes with Dan and maybe Jenny could go with Nate. Do Vanessa and Dan belong together? Or do Serena and Dan belong together?" Basically, nobody should get any hopes up for any long-term coupling, except perhaps us die-hard Chuck/Blair fans.

- The spin-off is officially dead. "We don't want to take one of our characters away from the show and put them in their own show. We don't want to mess with that cast chemistry." So anyone who wanted Vanessa or Jenny to get their own show, let it go...

So the couplings are going to happen, but for how long will they continue? Chuck and Blair seem solid with this new storyline that takes the edge off their relationship troubles, but this is the Upper East Side, and really, we still have to meet the Gossip Girl couple that can survive two seasons...
Gossip Girl returns March 8th on the CW.
