Review: Ugly Betty S04E15 - Fire And Nice

For the Modern Family fans this episode might sound like an unoriginal rip-off, but for the Ugly Betty fans, at least, it is certainly not. In fact, this episode moves the show into a direction that will lead to a satisfying end for the funnest ensemble telenovela on the air.

In the first episode back after the Olympics, the Suarez family still deals with the aftermath of the fire. Who did it? Why? And how long will this living together thing with Betty last? Questions will be answered, but that is the least of the progress made this week.
After it was already leaked out that one of the Suarez sisters is going to get married, one necessary step in that direction is made tonight, to great relief, because after four seasons of heartbreak, this sister deserves some lovin'.
In other developments, the truth about Claire's son is coming out, with all the repercutions that go with it.
Wilhelmina meets an old friend who still knows her as the old, nice girl. Willie (and Marc) go out of their way to catch a glimpse of that girl in order to get the old friend back.
But the best twist of the week might just belong to Betty who goes on a date. Nothing exciting, of course, but the motives behind it, and the actions she undertakes, show a side of Betty we never thought to see.

The episode shows how far these wonderful, colorful characters have come and refers back to many stories told before. It's what the last run of a wonderful show should be; dedicated to the fans who stuck by it through everything. If this is the way Ugly Betty is going out, it's a d*mn good way.
