Today's casting updates: Christian Slater, Tate Donovan and more

It's that time of year again! Actors are jumping ship or just crawling ashore as networks add roles to their fall pilots. This time it's Christian Slater who'll try again after The Forgotten and Tate Donovan who returns after Damages send him packing.

Slater will do comedy now as he is set as the lead on FOX's untitled Adam Goldberg comedy pilot. He'll play the charismatic (of course) renegade who runs the Titan Team, a gruff ex-military misanthrope with a checkered past. Slater will also produce the pilot.
Joining him is Trevor Moore, who will play the team's womanizing intelligence and reconnaissance head.

Thomas Haden Church has been cast as a TV executive in Showtime's comedy Episodes. The show, which features Matt "Joey" LeBlanc basically parodying himself. The show is created by David Crane (Friends) and Jeffrey Klarik and will air on both Showtime as well as BBC2.

Tate Donovan, who was recently killed off of Damages (who am I kidding, I only know him as Jimmy from The O.C.) has joined the cast of the ABC pilot No Ordinary Family. The show centers around a family with special powers and Michael Chiklis and Julie Benz previously signed on to play the leads. Donovan's role is still a "mystery".
