Review: Nip/Tuck S07E09 - Hiro Yoshimura

Series finales can only be three things; game changing, happy concluding or continueing in the show's spirit with an open ending. Nip/Tuck's final episode manages to stay right in between all three with an touching episode that's not as shocking as some of the other finales or as happy, but it certainly is gratifying.

For me anyways, never having laid an eye on any episode of the show, my acquaintance with the show has been short, but interesting. Never before have I seen so many changes in character's destiny in one episode. Until the final moments, you're not completely sure if this is the way the show is going to go out because all episode long, all everybody ever does is change their mind.

Christian and Sean welcome Liz as a third partner, but a promotion isn't final until everybody knows how to deal with the new baby. Meanwhile Julia is ready to leave for London while Matt's decision to stay with Ava isn't approved by anyone. The patient that comes knocking is Hiro Yoshimura, an old Japanese actor with lust in life.

A lot of story lines came to a close, and for fans who stuck with the show for 100 episodes, this might be a little disappointing, because though the episode enough sentimental moments to go with, the ending isn't quit fulfilling. Like I said, it's game changing, open ending, conclusion of a series finale. It's up to you to decide if it was successful.
