Review: Nurse Jackie S02E01 - Comfort Food

Nurse Jackie is a nice cable show with humor and good acting, but it's not as engaging as I would've liked or as interestingly developing. There is drama, mixed with quick talk and weird relations. Stepping in as a new viewer, the second season premiere is interesting, but doesn't taste for more.

The show has very interesting characters, all of the supporting characters have own, independent personalities and are fun to watch. It helps that there are wonderful actors pulling off the diverse range of emotions like it's nothing. Unfortunately, this is a character driven show only, and even if they are interesting and diverse, for a tv-addict they aren't enough to be pulled in.
'Comfort Food' picks up with Jackie still dealing with Eddie stalking her while she's at odds with Grace. Meanwhile, Gloria is still trying to find out who's taking medicine from the cabinets and Cooper hopes he and Jackie have a future.
Like I said, the episode doesn't really move forward, and to be fair, that shouldn't be expected of many cable shows, but there's not really a drive to step into a show if there's no sign of progression.
The story lines with Grace and Jackie dealing with all the guys are interesting, but in the end, even with original music guiding it, it doesn't seem to go anywhere.
