Review: Parenthood S01E03 - The Deep End Of The Pool

Parenthood continues to struggle with it's big, but talented cast, as some stories are reproduced fastfood meals, while others are intriguing and compelling. The characters start to grow on me in the third week, but the show never gets to the level that you look forward to seeing more of.

In 'The Deep End Of The Sea' the show focuses on parenting in every way possible, leaving you to wonder how many times they can pull the same story off in a different setting. Because in the end, parenting is a daily job, and can't be different every week. Which is exactly what TV doesn't need; a story that never changes.
Sara's car breaks down on a very inconvenient moment forcing her to either make it or accept a new car from her parents. But she's also still worried about her finding condoms in her father's office.
Adam and Kristina are smoothly becoming my favorite couple of the show as they worry about their sons Asperger's and a daughter who lacks attention, but still find time for humor and love.
Julia wants to teach her daughter how to swim, but goes beyond an average lesson.
The show offers up some great family moments, siblings appearing in each others scenes at random moments and the fun things kids can do. But having to feel for every child, every parent gets tiring. I stand by the too crowded cast, and the idea of saving some of the story lines for later. But who am I? Parenthood is becoming quit the charmer, but if it's full-season material...
