New Girl S01E01 - Pilot

Even if Zooey Deschanel's eyes aren't enough to hook you there are enough goodies to go around with FOX's new, charming comedy.
New Girl might have a slightly predictable concept but it proves that it hasn't worn out. The show approaches the moving in story with some diversity and class so that even when it's cliche, it's still highly enjoyable.

Zooey Deschanel is perfect as the wacky, goofy and odd girl that moves in with three less goofy guys. The guys are at first glance standard but prove to be just as capable of weirdness as their new friend. The show doesn't seem to have a problem to make a complete fool of its characters and that works very well.
In fact it's the best thing about the show. On other fields it does needs some tweaking. The pace for instance isn't great. Half way through the episode it already felt slow and, well, boring.
Luckily there were some surprising honest character moments, such as when Guy 3 (I'll get to names later) asks his ex why their relationship ended. Other times the characters (Guy 2 who isn't Coach) are a bit stale and predictable.
In the end New Girl is indeed enjoyable and makes up for some good laughs and a lovely ending. The only real flaw the Pilot has is that it merciless implants 'Time Of Your Life' in your head for the remainder of the day.
